Films

Artist’s Note:

My filmmaking practice started in earnest at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where I graduated with a B.F.A. in Photography and Film, even though I spent my high school years editing quirky birthday videos for my friends and convincing my teachers that researching how to make effective movie trailers would make for an A+ senior project (spoiler, it did). Filmmaking combines many areas of interest for me: storytelling, music, animation; and it requires creative collaboration to bring all these disciplines together into one final product, which I love.  Most of my work operates in the realm of documentary and often uses animation, archival footage, and voice-over narration to deconstruct the human experience. My current focus is on screenwriting as I slowly develop a script that’s been percolating in the back of my mind for several years.
